The August long weekend is a popular time for music festivals and Sydney Mae will be performing at the two of the biggest in Alberta.
Tomorrow, Aug. 3, she returns to the Big Valley Jamboree (BVJ), in Camrose, AB, where she’s the closing act for the ATB Homegrown Talent Stage’s opening show. Shortly afterwards she’s hosting the Production World Junior Songwriter’s Showcase.
Sydney will have only a little time to enjoy the jamboree that in recent years has become her home on the August Long Weekend. On Aug. 5 she’s making her first appearance at the Canmore Folk Festival before heading back to BVJ.
“It’s going to be a little bit of back and forth but I’m really lucky to be involved in both of those things on such a busy weekend,” says Sydney. “It’s going to be crazy. It makes my head spin a bit when I think about it, but it’s going to be a lot of fun, that’s for sure.”
